Highlands and Islands Regional MSP Donald Cameron has highlighted figures which show that 250 jobseekers in Argyll and Bute have been helped by the their local Jobcentres and the UK Government's New Enterprise Allowance (NEA) scheme, to launch their own businesses over the last decade.

Donald said: “This success shows how the right kind of support can provide local people with the tools to create employment opportunities for themselves and for others.

“As we seek to rebuild from the pandemic, we must build on the enterprising spirit of locals, and ensure that support from government is actually getting to the people who can take advantage of it.
